Claire Fletcher paintings
at The Crown
Claire’s charming pictures evoke memories of childhood holidays by the sea, engrossed in the fantasy world of The Famous Five and Swallows and Amazons, a time of innocence and exploration.
Claire has worked as an illustrator since leaving the RCA, and her first children’s book, The Sea Shell Song, won the coveted Mother Goose Award in 1993.
A Hastings resident for many years, her delightful memento filled studio overlooks the Stade from where so much of her inspiration is drawn.
The pictures crowd the walls of the wonderful Crown in Hastings. ‘I wish it was my local,’ says Audrey Gillian in The Telegraph.
